Fredericksburg—Local Barber shop Faded & Co. owned by Antoine Carey, located at 2215 Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg, is offering free haircuts to children in Foster Care. Faded & Co. has partnered with Embrace Treatment Foster Care in Spotsylvania, to give all of the children in Embrace’s care the opportunity to receive a free haircut and style. Embrace Treatment Foster Care Site Director Michael Paige commented, “The children we currently serve range in age from 3-19.
By obtaining a haircut, it gives our kids, specifically the young men and women we serve, the opportunity to see a successful entrepreneur and businessman in our community providing a service.”
Mr. Carey has been offering his professional services to Embrace’s foster children for the last few months and the haircuts are becoming a hit with the kids and foster parents alike. One parent shared with us, “My boy is a foster child and Antoine donated his time to give him a very nice haircut! I figured since it was a free haircut it would be a rush job but I was totally wrong. Antoine took 30-45 mins making his hair look perfect.”
As part of the Fredericksburg community Mr. Carey recognizes the importance in giving back, especially to the children. "Faded & Co. recognizes its social responsibility and aims to utilize every avenue afforded to give back to the community. We are honored to partner with Embrace."
