Antoine Carey is a Fredericksburg area entrepreneur and public speaker who was once in prison. Carey decided not to let recidivism be his story or define him; even studying in the law library in prison enough to get several years removed from his sentence. He owns his own barber shop and has given back to the community via free haircuts for several years. Carey feels it his moral obligation and is a driving force to illuminate the good in the youth of his community. Carey has also partnered with many other local organizations to fight recidivism and help youth break the inter-generational cycle. He also works closely with both the Thurman Brisben center and Micah Ministries to provide haircuts for children and adults alike who cannot afford them to help the homeless population as they try to gain employment. FailSafe – Era and The Teen Enrichment Network are a few of the other organizations Carey works closely with in order to give back to and influence the community.
